Checks and balances makes sure that one form of government has to much power over the other.
Federalism, No state can establish treaties with other country's without the consent of the government
Separation of powers splits the government into 3 branches. The three branches are Judicial, Executive and Legislative branches
Popular sovereignty sets the voting age to 18.
