Paul was born Jewish, in the city of Tarsus. His real name was Saul. He grow up following strict Jewish laws. He spent his time arresting and persecuting Christians. He also was a tent make by trade.
Saul was on the road to Damascus to visit the synagogues . When Jesus revealed himself as the Son of God. From that point on he converted to Christian. Then he studied and spread Jesus teaching. And changed his name to Paul.
He traveled during the Pax Ramona throughout Asia Minor and Greece to build churches. He sent letters called epistles explaining Jesus´ teachings to the churches he had built.

Paul returned to Jerusalem around 50 A.D with a group of converts. He was arrested because he brought gentiles into the temple of Jerusalem. And since he was a Roman citizen he was put in a Roman prison.
While Paul was in prision he kept writing letters to the churches that he had built. Then he demainded to be tried before cesar. After two years the letters suddenly stoped. So people assumed he was died.
Paul was so successful at spreading Christianity because he held Roman citizenship and was able to travel the Roman empire freely. He knew the Jewish laws so he was able to relate to the Jews while spreading Christianity. Since he traveled during the Pax Romana the roads were safer to travel.
