I'm telling you I'm not the monster! You can watch me and my wife all you want!
That doesn't change things Les! Don't try to convince or anything!
Evidence One: Les's car starts by itself and he and his neighbors are not surprised since they always thought Les was an odd ball.
I think that don't judge a book by it's cover is an important theme here because all of Les Goodman's neighbors were like watching him all night and accusing him of things based on the way that he was acting the last couple of years until now. It first started when Les Goodman's car started by itself. everyone thought that he had something to do with what was happening in town. They began to argue with him over whether or not he was some kind of monster or alien. Then that night they watched him to make sure he wasn't an alien undercover or something suspicious. In the end it turns out that they were all the monsters for accusing each other of things and for how they screamed and argued with each other.
Evidence Two: The neighbors began to argue over how the car turned on and everyone accused Les Goodman of being an alien.
Evidence Three: The neighbors watch Les and his wife that night because they don't want anything fishy going on while it's night time and they aren't watching.
The neighbors judged Les by the way he acted and assumed that maybe he was an alien from what Tommy had told them.
They didn't believe him when he tried to tell them that it wasn't true. He tried to tell them that he had not turned on the car. They were judging him also based on the way he acted all those times.
The neighbors had watched him all night because they didn't trust him alone since he had been acting so odd when the meteor hit town. He had not gone to look outside and they thought that was weird.
