They both have objects that they are curious about even though they are not supposed to use it. In Pandora's Box she was very curious to open up the box. In The Monkey's Paw they made him very curious to use it because of all the bad stuff he was getting told about.
In both Pandora's Box and The Monkey's Paw they were both warned. In both stories they did not take the warning and had to suffer the consiquences. Pandora's Box was told not to open the box but Pandora dis anyway. In The Monkey's Paw he was told not to use it but he did anyway.
The motif which is curiosity is both negative in both stories. In Pandora's Box it had a negative affect on someone. In The Monkey's Paw it had a negative affect on the family too.
