- Dummling, and was despised, mocked, and sneered at on every occasion.

- Dummling's oldest brother goes to chop wood and meets the little man.
- Falling Action
- The little man asks to have some cake and wine, but the brother won't share. When he chops down the tree he cuts his arm. The 2nd brother went into the forest.He met the little man so he asked the boy if he can have cake and wine. The 2nd son wouldn't share either and then he cut his leg. The 3rd brother went into the forest and he shared his cake and his sour beer. The little man told Dummling to go chop down that tree.
- Resolution
- When Dummling chopped down that tree and he found a golden goose. Everyone that touched the goose got stuck.
- Whoever could make the king's daughter laugh they could marry her. The king kept making impossible challenges for Dummling to do. He was able to complete all of them with the little man's help.
- Dummling married the king's daughter and lived happily ever after.
