John White and his colonists started to head to the New World on April 26, 1587. Two years earlier, Sir Richard Grenville and his colonists tried to create a settlement on Roanoke, but was unsuccessful. After a long ride, John and his colonists had finally arrived on July 22, 1587
When they arrived, they found the bones of one man, no one on the island, and a fort that was demolished. They had to face problems like starvation and Indian attacks. A couple weeks later, John's daughter had a child named Virginia.
I believe that the Native Americans killed the colonists because sites that I visited showed that the colonists had to deal with Indians all the time. There was also evidence found of a body killed by tomahawk. Also, since the Ralph Lane colony did such bad thing to the Natives, it seems reasonable that they would want to take some of that anger out.
