Jackson was called the "Kitchen Cabinet" because he always took advice from unqualified sources. These actions were perceived as being inadequate to his peers. The impact of this event was the result of the "Spoils System."
The Bank War
This was where South Carolina passed a law to cancel the new tax and threatened to secede from the Union if the government made them follow the law. Andrew Jackson and South Carolina compromised, so they did not secede.
The Indian Removal Act was very bad. It was a law that was passed by Congress to make Indian tribes give up their existing land and move to Indian territory. This event caused the Trail of Tears. The Trail of Tears was where President Martin Van Buren oversaw the removal of over 16,000 Natives West. This changed the way that everyone looked at the President and it killed many Indians.
Andrew Jackson thought the National Bank was unconstitutional. He wanted to remove all of the money from it, so he destroyed the National Bank. This impacted many people because it caused people to think that Andrew was abusing his own power. Also, the year after the bank closed, there was an economic crisis because no one had money.
