How to survive a bushfire
Brad and Susan are trapped in a bushfire, until they see Elvis the fire helicopter dumping water on the blaze. Elvis's crew see the two trapped people and radio for help. Soon, a Fire and Rescue Helicopter arrives onsite and takes them to safety. Although it is a miraculous day for Brad and Susan, it is a devastating day for the small town of Bilby, as their National Park is ravaged and destroyed by the intense bushfire.
Brad and Susan are trapped! The wall of flames looks as tall as the Harbour Bridge. "What can we possibly do, Brad? All we have in the car is my drink bottle of water and our picnic rug." Brad suggested, "Let's shelter in the car, soak the rug in water and cover ourselves in it..." It was then that they saw the glisten in the sky, through the thick black smoke. Elvis!!!!!
Elvis's crew, upon seeing the two stranded strangers below, radioes at once for assistance. Back up arrives swiftly, and Elvis's crew watches with baited breath as the two small ant-like people run towards the descending Fire and Rescue Helicopter - to safety and relief.
Although the day is a miraculous one for Brad and Susan, it is short lived and bittersweet for the town of Bilby, and the shattered rural fire fighters. The blaze rages on, destroying flora and fauna. Two people are safe for now, but what about tomorrow?
