The Smith family, John (38), Tina (36), Tommy (8), Lilly (5), Bailey (3), heard that a hurricane was coming through their town. Although they were prepared, the storm was very strong and soon ruined their house.
Please help us! A hurricane came through our town and destroyed our house!
The Smith's had so much damage they had to tell there kids they had to stop their extracurricular activities until they got their house repaired. (Tommy had to give up lacrosse, Lilly had to give up gymnastics, and Bailey had to give up dance). They are hoping that FEMA can help them fix their house.
We are hoping FEMA can help us repair our house so we can get back to our normal lives!
We have both had to work overtime to help pay for the damages! (Tina at the elementary school and John at his engineering job)
Thank you for seeing us! We are hoping FEMA can help us with the damage that the hurricane had on our house. It is too much for us to try to repair ourselves.
Yes we can help! FEMA provides support for people recovering from a major disaster. To qualify you must be a US citizen, have insurance, and your necessary expenses must be directly caused by a declared disaster. Typically we can provide temporary housing and/or money to help repair damages. From what you have described I think you will be eligible for both. We will have to send an agent to view the house and we will get back to you both.
What benefit will we be available for?
With all the damages you have we will give you money and temporary housing.
FEMA provided us this temporary home while ours is getting repaired. We have been able to start working normal hours again and let the kids go back to their activities.

We are so thankful for all that FEMA has done for us. Our house is completely repaired now and we didn't go into debt trying to fix it ourselves.
