A hero is an individual who goes through many trials and prevails to succeed, and show selfless traits in order to help others. I, Odysseus, am a hero. On my journey I went through many trials where I showed many acts of heroism and leadership. These are a few of my favorite scenes where I am a hero.
Now that we together achieved great victory, we shall return to our homeland!
Look at Odysseus, such a hero!
Ship of a true hero
While on the island of the Lotus Eaters, I am able to keep my men safe, and other ships men who stop to feast on the lotus flowers. I quickly show an act of heroism, once I realized what the lotus flowers were doing to my men. I was able to save the crew by telling them not to eat the flower, and by dragging the entranced ones who had already eaten one to the boat.
Everyone, stop eating these! You will lose hope of home!
In this scene, I show many acts of heroism, and strategic thinking to escape the Cyclops. First I blinded the Cyclops, then I escaped with my men by hiding under sheep. I showed great acts of leadership, as I let my men go first with the group of sheep in order to give them a greater chance of safely escaping.
Why are you separated from the rest little sheep? I guess I shall let you out.
Now that everyone else is set free because of my strategic thinking, it is up to me to escape.
In this scene, I am an outstanding hero, as I returned to my home to reclaim my throne and wife. I did this by disguising myself as a beggar, then by winning the archery contest by a complete blowout. I then told my son to lock up the women of our manor up to keep them safe, and finally, I fought bravely to reclaim my home by force and skill with my bow. I am a hero because I saved my wife and son from the 100 suitors who had invaded, reclaiming my position as ruler.
He must just be lucky!
In the end, I can firmly say I was a hero because I showed many traits of leadership, bravery, and much more. You may come to believe I am not a hero because I may have not been loyal most of the time, and showed some selfish acts. However, in the long run, I returned home to save my family and ended up changing to a very open person in the end. I was very cunning, as I always cared for my men and most importantly I broke lose from my trance and found the desire to return home making myself a hero in the Odyssey.
