  • The theme of holes is the consequence of choices resulting from fate and destiny and the importance of friendship
  • This shows that the friendship between Stanley and Hector is important because if Stanley wasn't friends with Zero, Stanley wouldn't have been released from the camp.

  • This shows that Zero is the reason Stanley was sent to Camp Green Lake. That means that fate made Zero and Stanley.
  • I stole Clyde Livingston's Shoes.
  • This shows that the friendship between Hector and Stanley is special because Stanley can not leave the camp without Hector.
  • I'm not leaving without Hector!
  • This shows that Stanley was concerned for Zero so Stanley steal the water truck, but crashes it into a hole.
  • This shows that it was fate for Zero and Stanley to meet because Zero stole Clyde Livingston's shoe and set them on top of a car, they blew off and hit Stanley in the head. Stanley was arrested that day and Zero was arrested the next day.
