Khadim saw Laila all alone so he decide to pick on her. He knew Tariq wasn't there so now one would stick up for her. He sprayed her with piss since he would get away with it.
Mammy talks highly of her sons, Laila's brothersbut never tellls Laila how great of a child she is. She says how much she loves them and misses them but never wantes to feel the same towards her daughter.
Babi knows how important it is for Laila to grow up with an education. He knows how some girls don't get the opportunity to get schooling, but he wants the best for Laila to take advantage of her being allowed at school.
