The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street By:Rod Serling Made by:Hannah Ryman
They don’t want us to leave.
I think its Goodman!!!
Its not me I swear!
Its a summer afternoon on Maple Street and everyones outside. All of the sudden a roar and bright light flys over their heads and people shout "What was that!" People start to gether around and figure out what just happened.
Steve and Charlie were going to go to town to see what happened but then Tommy says "They dont want us to leave." Everyone starts to wonder and ask Tommy what is he saying. He says there are aliens here that look like humans.
Its not me but I know who it is. Its.......TOMMY!!!!
The theme of this story is fear can lead up to blaming the innocent.
Goodmans car starts on its own and everything stops working including battery operated things. People are very quick to blame for this and everyone starts to form a mob.
Humans destroy themselves.
Pete is walking back from seeing what happened. Charlie gets scared because he thinks its an alien so he shoots Pete but not long after he regrets his actions. This is a tuning point and people start to blame Charlie. People start to panic even more now.
Everyone is still blaming each other. Charlie's lights in his house turn on on their own. Then people start to blame Charlie and violence breaks out.
Then it skips to a scene of aliens having a conversation. They where saying that humans destroy themselves because of fear. The aliens took away something and the people got so scared that they started to turn on each other.
