Storyboard Text

  • Hey! What is that? A meteor?
  • That's what it looked like. Didn't hear any crash though, did you?
  •
  • I can't get a thing on the radio. Not even the portable!
  • Hey! The power's out!
  • Operator!, operator, something's wrong on the phone, operator!
  • Why isn't my car starting?
  • Whoever was in that thing overhead doesn't want us to leave.  That's what always happens in my stories. They're probably here to pick up one of us who doesn't belong.
  • What's wrong, Tommy?
  • That's silly. No one here doesn't belong- right?
  • All is normal on Maple Street at 6:43 pm.  That is, until a bright light passes overhead.  Everyone looks up because of this odd occurance. They wonder what it could be.
  • What?! What?!
  • Alright, who here doesn't belong?
  • We may need this!
  • Give me that! I see something over there. Might be dangerous
  • Suddenly all the power goes out. It can't be just a power outage because cars and battery powered things won't work either!  This is when people know that something is not right.
  • You killed Pete Van Horn!!
  • I - I'm sorry! I didn't know it was him!
  • A few guys decide to go out and see how it is in another neighborhood, but a little boy named Tommy suggests otherwise.  He says that the bright thing was actually a ship of aliens.  This worries the town.
  • But soon enough people start to believe that one of the neighbors they have known for years is secretly an alien in disguise.  The problem was: which one?  Don brings out a gun to defend himself. When they see a figure up ahead Charlie decides to shoot to be safe.
  • His lights are back on! Charlie is the odd one!
  • Charlie shoots the figure in the distance, not knowing it was their neighbor Pete Van Horn. Back and forth people blame each other.  Everyone thinks a different person is the alien. No one knows who they can trust.
  • No it's Mr. Goodman!
  • It's Tommy! He's the one!
  • Far away from here 2 figures  are talking.  One says: " Understand the procedure? Just stop a few of their machines and radios and telephones and lawnmowers...Then just sit back and watch the pattern.  It is almost the same every time.  The world is full of Maple Streets.  Just go from one to the other and let them destroy themselves. For Prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy."
