Storyboard Text

  • Oh, hey. I didn't see you there. I'm photosynthesis and I'm here to tell you a little about myself. I'm the process certain organisms use to make food. Without me you wouldn't be here because I give you oxygen and food.
  • This is where I work. I guess I'm kind of like a chef. Here I make products to feed the plants like glucose, oxygen, and water.
  • Right now I'm getting the reactants that I will use to make the products. I need a cup of sunlight, two cups of CO2, and H2O.
  • I have two stages: the light reactions which convert solar energy to solar energy and the Calvin Cycle which incorporates CO2 into organic compounds known as carbon fixation.
  • These stages occur right here in the chloroplasts. The light reactions take place in the thylakoid and the Calvin Cycle takes place in the stroma.
  • Well, now you know a little about me. See you next time on Story Board.
