  • Native American forces ambushed the British 7 miles before the British reached Fort Duquesne, killing Braddock.
  • New Land
  • Ambush!!!
  • Washington and the remainder of the troops retreated.
  • British fleet cut off supplies and reinforcements from France.
  • Strategy
  • The Iroquois gave up, realizing that the British were most likely going to win.
  • Loss of Hope
  • Delaware, stop attacking the British!
  • This is our land now!
  • The British seized Quebec and took control of New France.
  • The Treaty of Paris ended the war in 1763, eliminating French power in North America.

  • The victory left the colonies deeply in debt. They had to pay the cost of the war, as well as the cost of governing and defending their new territories.
  • Colonial Response
  •  The policies adopted by the British government to solve these financial problems were unpopular in the colonies.
