  • Hello class, today we are going to learn how to write compound sentences.
  • Okay so you take two sentences: Henry likes apples & Henry likes oranges.
  • What are you talking about Ms. Harris? What is a compound sentence?
  • A compound sentence is when you combine two complete sentences together using a conjunction.
  •  Wow I did not know that! Can you show us an example?
  • ¨Henry likes apples, and he likes oranges.¨
  • Then you combine using a conjunction and a comma, but the comma right after the first sentence.
  • Conjunctions include: and, or, but, so, nor, and for
  • Wow! Now we get it, thanks!
