Problem While at a restaurant, Keira is wondering if the temperature of water changes the time salt can dissolve in it.
Research Keira looks up dissolving objects in water for her research so she can then make her hypothesis.
So, will it dissolve faster in hot or cold water
Hypothesis Based on her research, Keira made a hypothesis that boiling water would make the salt dissolve faster.
I think hot water will make it dissolve faster
Experiment Keira tested her hypothesis by doing an experiment. She had two cups with the same amount of of water, but one was boiling water and the other was ice cold. Keira put the same amount of salt in each of the cups and timed them separately.
Lets see if my hypothesis is correct.
Analyze Keira's hypothesis was correct. The hot water dissolved the salt faster than the cold water
I knew it!
Conclusion Keira knows that if she wants to dissolve salt she should put it in hot water because the temperature does change the time it dissolves.
Now I know what to do for next time.
