  • Stamp Act 1765
  • Townshend Act 1767
  • The king sent soldiers to keep an eye on the colonies. The colonists felt like their privacy was invaded.
  • Boston Massacre 1770
  • A new tax law was made, but the parliament had no representatives for the colonist. The colonists felt like they had no voice.
  • Intolerable Acts 1774
  • An indirect tax was made on tea,  but the colonists recognized it and created boycotts.
  • Lexington and Concord 1775
  • Soldiers got in an argument with colonist and open fired; colonists blamed the soldiers.
  • Intolerable Acts were used to punish the colonist for the Boston tea party. The colonists were furious.
  • Parliament rejected all the requests from the first continental congress. Colonists were furious and prepared for war with England.
