  • We finally landed! Now we need to establish a government
  • What did the document do? How did things change?
  • we, the people of this land, agree to protect each other and that everyone will follow the law.
  • The Puritans wrote this document in 1620 Heading to Virginia, the Mayflower encountered a big storm that threw them off course
  • The Puritans were in need of a government. This government  is supposed to serve a common good. After the may flower landed, they realized they are no longer under the control of their employer and decided to make their own government.
  • This document brought upon an agreement on the law between individuals, also known as self-government. The people were living under a government that they all agreed on. The Puritans all came to an agreement on what their government should be like and that everyone shall follow the law.
