  • Stamp Act 1765
  • No taxing goods!
  • we don’t want taxes
  • Townshend Act 167
  • the town shend  act is now in progress. Colonists will now be taxed on goods.
  • Boston Massacre 1770
  • we are not afraid of you!!!
  • if you citizens keep arguing with us we will take matters into our own hands
  • The stamp act is an early tax meant to raise revenue from the colonists to pay the french and war debt. The colonists were angry because of this act so they boycotted British goods,protested, rioted, and eventually tax was repealed.
  • Boston Tea Party 1773
  • throw as much tea in the sea as possible!
  • The Townshend act is another tax to raise revenue from the colonist's. the British taxed goods including glass,lead,tea, and paper. Colonists recongized the tax and grew angry all over again.
  • First Continental Congress 1774
  • On March 5, 1770 several soldiers stationed in front of the customs house, argued with several citizens. Eventually a shot was fired into the crowd by the soldiers, 5 colonists died.
  • Lexington and Concord 1775
  • The Boston Tea Party forced colonists to buy tea only from England. Protesters got angry and raided several British ships in Boston Harbor and dumped hundreds of chests of tea into the sea. millions of dollars worth of tea was dumped.
  • 12 out if 13 colonies met in Phillidelphia to discuss what was happening in New England. This event did not make the colonists mad- it helped bring them together 
  • in April Bristish troops left Boston on a march to Lexington and Concord. They were looking for a stockpile of colonial weapons and the two biggest trouble makers from New England.
