The king drew a line along the Appalachian Mountains and wouldn't allow the colonist to settle their because he had given that land back too the Native Americans. The colonist felt betrayed and that they deserved that land.
Boston Massacre 1770
King George III sent thousands of British troops to keep the peace and follow the proclamation. The colonist we very angry and felt like it was an invasion.
First Continental Congress 1774

The British had taxed paper goods in the colonies to pay the dept of the French and Indian war. Paper goods required a special stamp to show that a tax had been paid. The colonist felt their freedom and rights were being threatened.
Lexington and Concord 1775
Hundreds of British soldier's were set up in front of king street. When arguing accured between the colonist and soldier's, and shots were fired. Five colonist died and the colonist felt it was the British's fault.

12 out of the 13 colonies met in Philadelphia to talk about whats been going on in NEC. In this particular situation the colonist weren't mad and were actually getting closer together.
Parliament rejected every single request. Troops left on April 18th on a march to Lexington and Concord looking for weapon's. On April 19th Samual Adams and john Hancock stood waiting for the troops to defend with minute men.
