Yes, it's that great big oaf that either rolls in the mud or sleeps; it's the Hippo. You wouldn't think that one of these mud lovers would be dangerous - would you?
All of these animals around me look ferocious and scary right? Well even though they sometimes do kill people, they arn't as dangerous as our neighbour; The hippo. The hippo has killed more people than lions, tigers and bears put together!
You don't want to get into an argument with one of these hippos. Hippos are known for killing people by charging into them. Then on some occasions they will grab their threat in their jaws and will toss them arounf. A very painful death.
If a hippo doesn't want to charge at you, don't think that you're safe. Another of the hippos methods is to crush and trample a human to death. They will use their 1,800 kilogram to crush any threats. On some unfortunate occasions, hippos have been known to rip of heads.
It is estimated that hippos are responsible for around 500-3,000 deaths per year making them one of the most dagnerous animals in Africa.
