- Woah, a wild peasant! She seems very bored, but content. This is likely because peasants spend all their time farming and doing other work for other people. But whose land is she on, then?
- It sure does feel good to be a vassal and own all this land to split up the power of the empire and make it more stable...oops, talking to myself again. Get to work, peasant! I'll only feed you and let you live here if you do what I say!
- Don't act like you're all high and mighty, vassal. Remember, I'm a lord! That means you owe all your land to me! It also means that if you own land from different lords and we have a tussle, you'd be in deeeep trouble, bud.
- Why are you talking like this is a school assignment or someth- I mean yes, my lord.
- Hey, that's a knight! Knights are commonly vassals, but they have a sort of code to follow, called chivalry. Chivalry is all about honor and respect, as well as other things like being polite to women. Knights need to keep this up, or else they're at risk of losing land from their lords, and who doesn't want a cool manor?
- When not doing that, knights sometimes had tournaments, fake fights with other knights that the lords requested they do...for some reason.
- I'm uh...gonna uh....kill you!! ahhh!
- Yeah, me too! God, i hate my job.
- So who does the lord answer to? Why, the monarch! The monarch, who lies at the top of the feudal system. It may seem like they have all the power in the world, but they do need to rely on the other layers for supplies like troops.
- Being king is awesome! Keep up the good work, lord.
