Storyboard Text

  • Kennedy Draper
  • In "The Veldt" A family of 4 is not acting so much like a family. 2 overly spoiled kids named Peter and Wendy are very spoiled and love their technology in their HappyLife Home. they love the technology so much that they love it as their own parents! In the story there is tantrums, threats and all around bad behavior from the kids when the technology is threatened to be turned off!
  • Technology VS Family
  • Technology has benefits but when kids are spoiled there can be consequences!
  • Nursery
  • "He knew the principle of the room exactly. You sent out your thoughts, whatever you though would appear. 'Lets have Aladdin and his lamp,' he snapped. The Veldtland remained; the lions remained. 'cmon room! I demand Aladdin!' he said. Nothing happened.
  • "The Veldt" -Ray Bradbury
  • Peter
  • " 'dont let him do it!' wailed Peter at the ceiling, as if talking to the house, the Nursery. 'dont let Father kill everything!' he turned to his father. 'Oh, I hate you!'
  • "Technology is a useful servant but a dangerous master." -Christian Louse Lange
  • Spoiled Kids
  • The setting of the nursery is what spoiled the kids. The nursery was for them to get rid of negative thoughts but sense the technology was theirs they used it to their advantage and ended up loving it as their own parents.
  • In Conclusion
  • I think that the Nursery supports the theme the most! The Nursery is why the kids are spoiled. My theme was Technology has benefits but when children are spoiled there can be consequences so the Nursery was used to help the kids (benefit) but was used for not so good things but it made the kids crazy when threatened to be turned off.(consequences)
  • Peter loved the Nursery so much that he hated when it was locked up or turned off. He supports the theme because the consequence of him being spoiled is he hates his parents o anybody willing to turn off the technology.
  • The spoiled kids lead them to being so attached to the technology that doing normal things without technology seems like a punishment. But the kids being spoiled supprots the theme because doing normal things is not a punishment, they probably should accept the break from technology to try something new but they dont want to because they are spoiled and they get whatever they want.
  • " 'That sounds dreadful! Would I have to tie my own shoes instead of letting the shoe-tier do it? And brush my own teeth and comb my hair and give myself a bath?' "
