This scene is when Fabiola was stopped by a detective, Detective Stevens.This is important because the detective wanted more information on a boy, Dray, that goes to her school and was also in a relationship with one of her cousins. The detective happened to know that Dray sold drugs at parties. Fabiola gave her information, but it later led to something bad.
This scene was when Papa Legba was singing outside of Aunt Jo's house. Papa Legba is a loa in Haitian Vodou. He helped Fabiola in her life by giving her clues in the songs he sings. This is imporatnt because he basically tries to make her choose the right path. Other people such as Fabiola's family and friends, see him as a crackhead/crazy guy on the street. In this scene he tells Fabiola, by singing, to beware of the lady in brown(the detective). Fabiola doesn't realize who he talking about until the end.
This scene was when Fabiola and her "boyfriend", Kasim are on their way to a restaurant for a date together. This scene is important because it was the day when they become closer to each other. Fabiola learns more about Kasim, while he learns more about her.
