Today in class we learned about what Ancient Egypt looked like.
What did it look like?
Now it's all in ruins, but long ago there were huge monuments that had beautiful carvings in them. The monuments were built by Hebrew slaves.
Wow! What were the monuments for?
They were for the pharaohs. Just like the monuments, the pharaoh's clothes were beautiful, too. They had a lot of jewelry that was mined in Egypt's mines.
Look, a peasant farmer's house! These peasants worked really hard to get a better life in a higher social class. They often sang songs to make the day pass. They wove mats for their house with papyrus reeds that grew near the Nile.
What's the Nile?
The Nile River!? Only the "lifeblood" of Egypt! It provided food, water, transportation, and more for the Egyptians.
