The first part of the French Revolution was that France was broke. This was caused because spent a lot of money but they barely collected anything more in return to have a very balanced government. The higher people of the government such as the nobles and clergy also decided to not to pay much taxes. They also decided t get money from peasants and didn't pass much to the government . With all of these reasons they became broke.
There was three estates in the government. The first one was called the Clergy. The second was called the nobility and the third one was called the common people. The king wished that they would make people pay more taxes. They disagreed and they said that they wanted more political power. Then later there were newer ideas of liberty and equality. They did not agree on the old rules and they refused to meet at a seperate group so they decided to leave the meeting.
Declaration of Rights of Man
The National assembly of France was created when the third estate decided to leave the meeting because they didn't agree on the old rules and what the other estates said. They went to an indoor tennis court and they made themselves the National Assembly of France. This assembly protested against the rest of the assemblies. They made an oath called the Oath of the Tennis Court and promised to write a constitution for France. Then the revolution was beginning.
Liberty, Equality and Faternity
The day of Bastille was a day that people started to protest even more. The news of the national assembly was telling people that France was top of bad economics. Then riots broke out into the streets about working conditions and breads. People then got nervous and armed themselves. On July 14th they had a group head toward Bastille and they destroyed or attacked the fortress and prison in Paris. Everyone broke out and killed the governor , solders, and officials.
The summer of 1789 was showing that the assembly was governing France. They ended feudalism. Later on the assembly created the Declaration of the Rights of Man. This document stated the rules and principles of the revolution. It stated that all men had freedom and equality. The declaration shows that.
The meaning of the Declaration of Rights of Man. The meaning of these words mean liberty, equality, and fraternity. This pretty much means that there is equality and freedom. This also means that there is brotherhood.
