  • Reign Of Terror. 
  • The king tried fleeing the country and he got caught around the German border.  The people of France got disapointed at the king . He then went to trial and was convicted of treason. They said he attempted to overthrow the government. Not many people voted for him to die but the next day he was put into the guillotine. 
  • Napolean
  • There was many wants for the Declaration of Right become a practice. They made a political club called the Jacobins. They wanted to spread this across the country of England. Then all of a sudden rebellion broke out and the kings wife was executed. The political defenders of the country were fighting to deafend the country. The revolution had gone too far and they wanted to get ride of anyone who disagreed.  This meant they they would execute anyone.

  • Each week thousands died at a time.  Danton was arguing about the reign. He argued that this was wrong and made everyone believe what he was believing. He then put him in the trial group and decided to shut him up. He was accused and had to get his head cut off.  No one was safe so the government turned against him. The reign of terror had ended. 
  • The Future of Bastille Day
  • Napoleon came out of an island called Corsica. He was a solder and he  did not like following rules. He had very good battle skills and so Paris decided that he should run for government.  He then began a series of wars.  He brought many ideas to France.  In 1804 he crowned himself king. He wanted to make sure that his kingdom got spread all over Europe. He was sure that he would take everyone over. 
  • Everyone wanted to stop him. Therefore four countries that had enough and tried to stop him. They set off to stop what Napoleon was doing. They were able to take over him. In 1815 they defeated the armies. Napoleon was then sent to St. Helena a small island in the South Atlantic. 
  • Bastille day is the day that the French celebrate the French victory. It was an inspiring moment for these people and it was a battle that the French remember. We celebrate Independence Day on July 4th. They celebrate Bastille day on July 14th.
