On the way home, Perseus encountered a woman named Andromeda stranded on a rock about to be eaten by a sea monster. He slayed the monster and saved Andromeda.
He finished his adventure by turning Andromeda's promised husband into stone using Medusa's head. After this, he turned his own father, who kept his mother imprisoned, into stone. He set his mother free, and so ends the myth.
