Charles Pinckney was born in Charleston, SC and grew up their until he was requested to go to Oxford University in England for collage. He spent years studying there and eventually graduated.
I helped make the Constitution
After Charles left Oxford University, he went to military school in France. There, he trained to be a soldier and left France when he heard that war was raging in his home country. He joined the army for america.
After Charles joined the patriots, he served 5 years in the war against Britain, starting 1775 to 1780. In 1780, he was captured by the British and was held until the end of the war in 1783.
Charles Pinckney had a large part in creating the new Constitution. He brought his ideas to the Constitutional Convention and most of them were used in the Constitution. He signed the Constitution.
