  • Kids being insulted by Ms. Dubose
  • Your father is a nigger lover!
  • Don't listen to her, let's go.
  • The store
  • I got the last one! Thank you Jem.
  • Scout, shut up and hurry up and let's leave! I want to get out of here.
  • Jem destroys Mrs. Dubose flowers
  • Jem, please stop !
  • Jem and Scout are walking by Mrs. Dubose house to get to town. Mrs. Dubose is outside in her porch and when she sees them she starts insulting them and Atticus.
  • Atticus telling Jem to apologize
  • I was defending you, now you want me to apologize?
  • She is an old lady, Jem. I suggest you go over there and talk to her.
  • Jem bought Scout the baton that she wanted. Jem was in a really bad mood though. He was mad at Mrs. Dubose and he didn't know how he could take his anger out.

  • Jem was extremely mad at Ms. Dubose for insulting Atticus. Jem destroyed Ms. Dubose flowers with Scout's new baton. Scout was crying because she was very upset.
  • The perfect camelia
  • She was old and she was suffering a lot. But she told me to give this to you.
  • Atticus came home with Scout's baton on his hand. He told Jem to go and apologize to Ms. Dubose. Scout was still mad at Jem for destroying her new baton, but she felt like Atticus was being unfair.
  • Jem, I don't need anybody to defend me, please jut go.
  • Jem's punishment for destroying Mrs. Dubose flowers was that he had to read out loud to her after school for 2 hours and Scout would go with him. Mrs. Dubose slept throughout the whole time.
  • One day Atticus came home from Ms. Dubose house and he told the kids that she died. He said that Mrs. Dubose was a morphine addict and he told Jem that Mrs. Dubose had left something for him, in a box.
