Storyboard Text

  • So, what is  Mitosis?
  • Mitosis is  the simple  duplication of  cell and all its parts.
  • Mitosis is part of the cell cycle.
  • The cell cycle consists of interphase,  mitosis, and cytokinesis.
  • Mitosis has  four stages: Prophase. Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase (PMAT)
  • Mitosis' primary function is  growth & repair.
  • It starts out with Interphase and the parent cell has an initial amount of 46 chromosomes.
  • During Interphase, the cell grows to mature size, replicates its DNA, and prepares for cell division.
  • During Prophase...
  • Spindle fibers form and  nuclear membrane disappears.
  • During Metaphase...
  • Chromosomes line up at the center of the cell and each chromosome attaches to a spindle fiber.
