  • The gods came to Utnapishtim to warm him of a great flood coming
  • They instructed him to build a giant boat
  • He filled the boat with one female and one male of every kid of animal, his family, and other fineries.
  • The rain came down in torrents for six days and nights
  • After the rain stopped, the ships rested on the summit of Mount Nisir for seven days. It was clear that the world had been annihilated and Utnapishtim wept.
  • Untnapishtim sent a dove free, but it returned to him. he then sent a swallow, which also returned. He then sent a raven which stayed away, and Utnapishtim knew he could leave the ship.
