Murad and thirty other people, including himself, are trying to immigrate from Morocco to Spain by traveling fourteen kilometers down the Strait of Gibraltar.
The outside motor stops, as Rahal tries to pull the cable a few times, but nothing happens. Faten then says, "The trip is cursed." Rahal tries to yank the cable, but again, nothing happens.
After Rahal kicks everyone out of the boat and makes them swim the rest of the way, they make it onto the beach. Murad calls Rubio, and Rubio tells Murad to wait by the sugar cane for him. Murad ends up finding the sugar cane, when lights shine on him. He thinks its Rubio, but the Guardia Civil comes out and catches him.
When the van stops, Murad takes off running towards a wooded hill area. As he gets closer to the road, he sees a four-lane highway, causing him to pause and Martinez grabs him by the shirt, taking him back to the others.
One by one doctors examine everyone of the immigrates, while a lawyer talks to them and tells them that they are illegal and must sign a paper that the Guardia Civil are going to give them.
The guard takes Murad to an old cell with several others in it to be sent back to Tangier. As he is sitting in the cell, he thinks about how if his mom sells all her gold bracelets, it will pay for another trip.
