Lewis and Clark were on a mission to explore the unknown territory and to find a waterway from the US to the Pacific Ocean. They were sent by their current President Thomas Jefferson.
Meriwether Lewis was a public administrator and he was about 30 years old when the expedition began. William Clark was territorial governor and he was about 34 years old when the expedition began.
Sacagawea was a Lemhi Shoshone who was the interpreter alongside Lewis and Clark on their expedition. Toussaint Charbonneau was a French Canadian explorer and trader. He is also known for being the captor-husband of Sacagawea.
I think the movie helped me learn a lot about the Lewis And Clark Expedition since movies tend to stick to your memory. Yes, I would recommend this movie to students because it is an efficient way to learn about this expedition,
The Lewis and Clark Expedition began May 14, 1804 and ended September 23, 1806. A group of military men called The Corps of Discovery was led by Meriwether Lewis and Second Lieutentant William Clark. They start sailing at the Missouri River but ended up stopping at St.Louis. They came across a pregnant 16 year old girl named Sacagawea.
Sacagawea and her husband ended up joining them on their journey. After finding her they decided to try and look for her former tribe to borrow their horses. After being led through the Rocky Mountains they managed to get off them, make new canoes, and found the Pacific Ocean! But sadly they didn't find it through a water route.
