De La Salle was always fascinated by the stories of the saints through his grandmother.
At the age of 10 he recives his tonsure to show his dedication and interest to priesthood
Eventually he sees that there are boys who are abandoned that need schooling so he built schools for them
That Leads him to sell all his possessions to build more schools and to support the current ones existing. It also was at this time that he was being criticized for helping the poor.
Then John Baptist De La Salle, Nicholas Vuyart and Gabriel Drolin profess the 'The Heroic Vow', to remain together in society even if they would have to beg and live on bread alone. This vow was so that none of the brothers will ever leave again
and in the coming years retired as a superior and taught the lasallian brothers about the interior prayer
