Storyboard Text

  • Football Is a Dangerous Sport
  • Why don't you play football if you love it so much?
  • My parents think that if I play, then I'll get injured, then damage my brain, then I won't be able to get a job.
  • My brother used to play football, then he got hurt. Now I believe everyone that plays football will get hurt.
  •
  • Why do you still play football if it is very dangerous?
  • Why do you play hockey if it is dangerous?
  • Slippery Slope: When a relatively insignificant first event is suggested to lead to a more significant event, which in turn leads to a more significant event, and so on.
  • Football is extremely dangerous and everyone knows it!
  • Hasty generalization: Applying a specific rule to a general situation
  • I think I have a concussion because I can't see straight and I'm very dizzy.
  • I think you will be fine. A concussion is just a bad headache that doesn't need attention.
  • Red Herring: Attempting to redirect the argument to another issue to which the person doing the redirecting can better respond. The second argument is similar to the first.
  • Bandwagon: The fallacy of attempting to prove a conclusion on the grounds that all or most people think or believe it is true.
  • My whole family thinks that too!
  • Oversimplification: simplification of something to such an extent that a distorted impression is given
