Donald Zinkoff is graduating from elementary school. He's extremely excited and can't wait to grab his diploma.
His first day at Monroe Middle School, he drops all of his things on the floor and struggles to pick them up. When he notices that Claudia, a little girl he met once, has gone missing.
The next day it snows. Zinkoff knows that in Monroe Middle School he is invisible. So, he decides that he'll help look for Claudia. He spends many hours searching for Claudia alone.
Zinkoff gets lost and it's so late that he falls asleep out in the snow. Someone finds him and brings him home. Though he didn't get to be the one who found Claudia, they recognized him as a hero for making the effort to look for her.
Zinkoff goes back to school, content. He's happy with his surrounding and most of all happy with himself. He no longer feels like an outsider because he's learned to appreciate himself for all of his "loser" attributes.
