Setting: Carnival & CatacombsCharacters:Narrator and FortunatoConflict:Fortunato said something that did not settle well with the narrator. Now the narrator must get revenge.
The Cask of Amontillado
Fortunato said something earlier in the night that the narrator did not like. Now he is plotting his revenge.
I must keep smiling, for Fortunato has no idea what is to come. I will be avenged, no one shall say such things to ME and go unharmed.
This is Fortunato
The narrator tricked Fortunato into going down to the vaults to compare different types of wine.
Luchesi could not even tell the difference from Amontillado wine to Sherry!
I was silly enough to pay full price for Amontillado without consulting you first! I am headed have Luchesi inspect my purchase.
Then you shall come taste the difference yourself down in the vaults.
*cough cough cough*
Maybe we should go back, you don't sound too well!
No, no. I will not die of a cough
They got extremely deep into the chambers... Fortunato continued struggling more and more as they went. They found the Amontillado and when Fortunato went to retrieve it, the narrator trapped him in the niche.
The narrator built over the niche Fortunato was trapped in with mortar and bones found in the Catacombs.
He built for hours until finally, there were no more screams or rattling chains. The Narrator then left the deep catacombs to sit there, silent... forever.
