  • I am good! I haven't seen you around school in a long time!
  • Hey Aaron! What are you doing?
  • Hey did you hear? There's going to be a lunar eclipse! Wanna go to the park to see it at around 8?
  • Oh, sorry I don't think I can Annie
  • Ok, It's fine talk to you later.
  • Now that I think about it what is a lunar eclipse and how does it work? Let me ask her!
  • To see a lunar eclipse you have to be in standing in the umbra.
  • The Earth casts a permanent shadow into space and the moon sometimes passes through the shadow either partially or completley.
  • Basically, the Earth blocks sunlight from reaching the moon during full moon
  • Annie ☺
  • Hey! How do Lunar Eclipses work again?
  • If you are standing in the umbra, you are standing in the path of totality. You will see the moon appear a reddish color
  • Sure! Anytime, I'll be watching the eclipse later at the park around 11 P.M!
  • Annie ☺
  • Wow, thanks for explaining!
