The King of Mandinka along with his "ugly" wife Sogolon had a baby; Sundiata, and he was destined to be a powerful King. However, Sundiata was ridiculed by his step mother and brother.

Led by the faithful salt merchants (the Tuareg tribe), Sundiata and Sogolon escaped Dankaran's warriors and go into exile.
As Sundiata, Sogolon and the Tuareg tribe head for Mema, Sundiata learns to ride a horse and shoot a bow from Fahd after his tests.
Sundiata was living a blissful life in Mema. He grew to be as "strong as a lion" and he earned the respect of his fellow citizens. Meanwhile, back in Mandinka, the King of Susso attacks and steals the crown along with the kingdom.

The King of Susso was met by warriors attacking from the river and thought the war was his to win. However, Sundiata was prepared and led a surprise attack behind the Susso warriors which led Sundiata to win the war!
Sundiata regained his rightful role as King of Mandinka. He earned his respect through his leadership and is kindness. Furthermore, he established a new government which united 12 kingdoms in Africa into 1 empire and ran as King for 25 years.
