  • By the age of 20 Alexander had become king of Macedonia, and ruled all of Greece
  • After Alexander conquered a groups of people, he would implement parts of their culture into his empire, while spreading Greek culture
  • By 332 B.C.E. Alexander had conquered Egypt, founding Alexandria the next year
  • To solidify his rule oer the Persians Alexander married the daughter of the Persian king he had defeated
  • At the time of his death in 323 B.C.E. Alexander's empire included Greece, Macedonia, Egypt, parts of Asia minor,  and Mesopotamia
  • After his death, Alexander's empire crumbled.  On his death bed when he was asked who should rule next Alexander answered "Whoever is strongest"
