  • Cowboy Life~ Cowboys were mostly younger men who were in need of money, to earn that they rounded up cattle, cared for horses, fixed up fences and buildings, and sometimes helped establish frontier towns. After all their hard work they made about $20-$40 a month.
  • Traveling by train was faster and more reliable, than any other transportation in Texas.People could get where they needed to be a lot quicker. Railroads helped a lot with trade and business in many towns.The growth of railroads led to the beginning of the Texas frontier. 
  • Spindletop Location~ Southern portion of Beaumont, Texas in the U.S.Spindletop Date~ January 10, 1909, a well at spindletop struck oil for the first time. The Spindletop is a salt-dome oil field.The dome was extracted from the Louann Salt evaporite layer of the Jurassic geologic period.
