- Sirena young graceful Chamorro girl , who had silky hair and big dark eyes her face is round and lovely she had long blacks hair , she was sweet and innocent .
- most of the time her mother have to constantly remind her to work hard , as for Sirena she knew how to weave cook fish and find the most fragrant flowers and vines , but all she want or yearning to do is to touch or swim in the water .
- one day , her mother was stressing because of her cousins festival its was a big feast so they had a lot of preparing to do , she had so much things to do , all of Sirena's siblings were busy , while Sirena was in the water splashing . Sirena's younger sister came to fetch some water , she tapped and warned Sirena "Sirena you'd better get up there and help mama needs she's already angry because she cant find you" than she dips the bucket to get water .
- she giggled at Sirena's unconcerned look she , the little sister knew Sirena would get in trouble , Sirena swam and walked in to her house with effort as she walks in she hears her mother shouting for her brother to go get the breadfruit from their aunties house . suddenly the mother spots Sirena and told her to go get the breadfruit .
- as Sirena was going to fetch for the bread fruit , on her way she was thinking wether se should go for a little swim and she wont take long so on her way there she told herself as she was ached for the water she thught to herself only for a moment it wont be long as she glistening into the water .
- and before she knew the sun has disappeared behind the horizon the dusk coating the island , she ran home with an empty basket knowing her mom would be mad at her . Sirena cried softly knowing her mom is going to be disappointed at her , the mother than lectured Sirena and told her she will be an ugly fish if she does go back and touch the water Sirena cried , Sirena than ran out to the water and out into the sapphire as she starts turning into a mermaid she looked at her island one last-time and said her last goodbye
