- Oh. My. Goodness.
- (Dally-front seat) Oh glory...
- The kids! Help them!
- Pony! Johnny! Get back here before you get hurt!
- Dally, Johnny, and Ponyboy were all in Dally's car, heading up to Jay Mountain from Dairy Queen to retrieve their items from the Church. As soon as they pull up, their eyes feast upon the flaming church.
- AHHHHHH
- Flames sat on top the roof, smoke filling the air above the church. There were worried cries of the students and teachers. The kids were stuck in the flaming church.
- Will he ever recover? Poor Johnnycake....
- Gallantly, Ponyboy and Johnny ran for the window, wanting to save the children thinking this was all their fault. Leaping through the broken window, Pony and Johnny reached the interior.
- Flames roared above and around the group, shrieks of fear filled the room. One by one, Ponyboy and Johnny tossed the kids out the window hastily. Sparks of embers fell from the ceiling as it caved in slowly.
- The doctor rolled Johnny through the waiting room along with an intravenous cannula. Ponyboy starred at Johnny's body. Severe burns covered him, along with his back being broken.
- Sodapop and Darry come to the hospital to see Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally. Pony is relieved to see them both, hugging Sodapop and seeing Darry's 'no expression' love. Although, Ponyboy knows that they are both glad to see him, just as he is to see them.
