OMG they are men!!
This slide represents "The ordeal". John enters the place of the gods and is utterly mystified at everything around him. "there are ruins of the high towers of the gods", "the gods must have loved them, or, perhaps, they used them (pigeons) for sacrifices."
This slide represents "The resurrection". John falls asleep, and has a vision involving the god's destruction, and then wakes up with this new understanding. "I knew the reason for the dead places", "... my heart was perplexed and confused"
Father! They were men!!
This slide represents "The Reward". AFter seeing a 'dead god', John realizes they were not gods, but rather men who destroyed each other fruitlessly. "The I saw the dead god", "... for then, I knew he was a man"

This slide represents "The Road Back". John makes his journey home fearlessly, while going back the way he came. "I had no fear going home", "When I saw my father again, I prayed and was purified"
This slide represents "Return With The Elixir". John explains what he saw to his father and states that they must rebuild the legacy of men. "We must build again.", "I told and he listened."
