  • Boxer hurts his hoof during battle of the windmill. Boxer split his hoof fighting the people during the Battle of the Windmill. The humans are not happy leaving Animal Farm to the animals In this battle, Boxer is injured badly. He fights valiantly, attacking many men by bashing their heads in with his hooves.

  • Clover makes him a poultice for his hoof, and he eventually does seem to improve, but his coat doesn't seem as shiny as before and his great strength seems slightly diminished. He says that his only goal is to see the windmill off to a good start before he retires.

  • After he is helped back to his stall, Squealer informs them that Napoleon has sent for the veterinarian at Willingdon to treat him. Napolion tells boxer this.

And just at this moment, as though he had heard the uproar outside, Boxer's face,, appeared at the small window at the back of the van.. "Boxer! Get out! Get out quickly! They're taking you to your death!.
