Storyboard Description

Christopher Columbus went to the king of Portugal for money for his voyage, but the king refused, then King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain gave Columbus the money he needed for his voyage. And he has just ported and going to find new land, what he thinks is Asia.

Storyboard Text

  • Christopher Columbus was a little boy, when he was 19 he started working on his first ship. He latter on in his life, realized that the Silk Road was closed and he than wanted to make a rough to Asia on just water. 
  • May I please have some  money to sail to Asia and find a faster rought to Asia?
  • NO
  • Christopher Columbus asked the King and Queen of Portugal for some money. They were the first to say no.
  • He than asked the queen and king of France and England for money. They also said no.
  • Yes!
  • King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain finally gave Columbus the money he needed for his voyage. 
  • May I have some money to find a faster route to Asia.
  • Christopher Columbus had three ships on his first voyage, the Niña, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria. Columbus sailed from Palos de la Frontera on August 3, 1492. His flagship, the Santa Maria had 52 men aboard while his other two ships, the Nina and Pinta were each crewed by 18 men.
  • On August 3, 1492,Columbus set sail from Spain to find an all-water route to Asia. On October 12, more than two months later, Columbus landed on an island in the Bahamas that he called San Salvador; the natives called it Hispaniola.
