  • The reforms were rejected my Muslims and Hindus as no self-rule was given, the voting rights were decreased and the system of 'diarchy' was only at the provincial level.
  • In Dec, a committee was formed under Justice Rowlatt to investigate and stop revolutionary activities. The proposal allowed arrest without warrant, detention without bail, trial without a jury, etc. This further rose the citizen's anger towards the British.
  • The rowlatt act led to this masscare. On 18 April, 20,000 Muslims were gathered conducting a peaceful protest but Generl Dyer took this as a threat and attacked. The park only had one entrance which resulted in 400 Muslims dead and 1200 Muslims wounded.
